How it works
The Real Business Challenge (RBC) 2016/17 is open to students who will be in Year 9, Year 10, S2, or S3 over the 2016/2017 academic year.
Once you have registered and downloaded the resource pack, you will see from the materials and teacher's notes that the challenge is designed to allow teachers a great deal of flexibility in how to run the challenge. It can be run across a whole year group as an off-timetable enterprise day or be used to support lessons.
The table below outlines the key stages of the RBC.
|Registration||Register for the challenge by following the Get Involved link on this website. There is no cost and, once registered, teachers are able to log in and download a resource pack for running the RBC in school.||Registration is possible now.|
|RBC Stage 1 (in-school challenge)||Teachers run RBC challenge with students
in school (using downloaded resource pack). Teachers submit their
best team's work to be judged by a panel including senior
representatives from Coca-Cola European Partners. Entries are
uploaded via the website.
(NB: No more than 2 entries per school are allowed this year.)
|Teachers can run the challenge & upload work as soon as they have registered. The closing date for uploading entries is 25th November 2016. Teachers will be informed of whether their students have qualified for a regional final by 5pm on the 15th December 2016.|
|RBC Stage 2 (regional finals)||
The top 10 teams from each of the 11 regions will be invited to a regional final where they will take part in a new challenge with support from CCEP business mentors. One of the ten regional final spaces will be reserved for the best of any SEN or ASN entries in each region.
RBC Regional Finals will take place over February 2017. A full schedule of events will be published here by September 2016.
|RBC Stage 3 (Winners event)||The winning teams from the regional finals will be invited to a prestigious event in London in March 2017, when the RBC 2016/2017 champions will be announced.||
A prestigous event for regional winners will be held in London in March 2017. All transport and accommodation costs for this event will be covered by Coca-Cola European Partners.
